A male student of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology has been arrested as a suspect in the killing of his fellow student.
The deceased has been identified as Yabana Deladem Aku. She is a 21 year old level 400 Biological Science student also at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology.
Initial investigations showed that the deceased was discovered unconscious behind the Central Laboratory on campus in the early hours of the morning, according to a police statement released on Thursday, February 27, 2025.
According to the Police statement, KNUST Hospital medical authorities declared her dead after examining the body on the spot and thereafter transported it to the hospital morgue for preservation and autopsy.
Daniel Tuffour the suspect was arrested by the police after more crime scene examinations.
He is still being held while the inquiry is ongoing.
