Hon Prof Dr. Grace Ayensu-Danquah Advises Parliament To Have Emergency Services

Hon Prof Dr. Grace Ayensu-Danquah, MP for Essikado-Ketan Constituency has advised parliament to pay attention to medical emergency services in the house.

She spoke on the floor of parliament and proposed the house formed a committee to have an emergency services team to assist parliamentarians.

She said “Should any of us in this room have an emergency situation, i think we probably may not make it to the nearest hospital”

She suggested medical emergency training for MPs, their staff, drivers and house helps to administer first aid in the event of any medical emergency.

Pror Dr Grace Ayensu-Danquah is a gender advocate, educationist, philanthropist and trauma surgeon.

She is also a double board-certified surgeon trained in general surgery, having completed a trauma and burn fellowship and trained in reconstructive surgery too.

She is a Professor of Medicine at the Centre for Global Surgery at the University of Utah in the United States.

Considering her medical background, her suggestion comes as no surprise.
