At a recent church gathering, Funny Face, a Ghanaian comedian and actor known in real life as Benson Nana Yaw Oduro, gave a moving speech about perseverance and optimism.

Funny Face talked candidly about his battles with “serious depression” and suicidal thoughts, drawing on his own experiences. He said that his trust and reliance on God enabled him to get through those difficult times.

Funny Face sincerely encouraged the audience to have faith in God’s purpose despite hardship. Regardless of the difficulties they encounter, he urged Ghanaians to cling to hope and give their lives to Christ, using his own life as evidence.

“We give God the glory if I declare I have seen death and I am still alive today. If God has saved me from all of my problems, then trust me when I say that there is a God, because I had severe depression and considered suicide.

He said “If I say I have seen death and I am alive today, we give God the Glory…I went through serious depression and wanted to commit suicide and so if God has delivered from all my difficulties, then I tell you there is God, believe me”

The Comedian has suffered relapses on his journey to heal from his mental disorder.

His unstable mental health has caused him several problems and obvious snub by heavyweight industry players.
