Throwback-Ed Sheeran Debunks the Myth of Natural Talent-VIDEO

On “The Jonathan Ross Show” back in 2014 (a British comedy chat show presented by Jonathan Ross), Ed Sheeran shattered the common belief that natural talent alone guarantees success.

He played an old video of himself singing with his raw, unpolished voice—and it sounded far from impressive. With humility, Sheeran emphasized, “When people say artistes are born with talent, no, you have to learn and really practice.”  His point was clear: even those with innate ability must put in relentless effort to excel. Sheeran’s journey from a mediocre singer to a global superstar proves that talent without hard work is meaningless.

In essence, Sheeran’s message is a powerful reminder that greatness is earned, not given. While some may have a head start, true mastery comes from dedication, persistence, and countless hours of practice. His candid revelation inspires aspiring artists to focus on growth rather than relying solely on natural gifts. After all, even the most gifted individuals must work extremely hard to be the best.
