Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, Ghana’s Finance Minister will present the 2025 Budget to parliament and the people of Ghana today Tuesday 11 March, 2025.
This Budget will be the first to be presented by the Mahama led NDC Government.
Most Ghanaians are anticipating the removal of taxes such as the E-Levy, COVID-10 and the Betting Tax.
During the political campaign leading up to the 2024 General elections, the removal of these Taxes were a major part of the Campaign message by the NDC party.
Prior to the budget presentation, the Communications Department of the Presidency has released a 22 page document highlighting key points to anticipate in the budget.
Speaking about the upcoming budget, Hon. Felix Kwakye, Minister in charge of Government Communication said “The budget will outline the financial state inherited by the National Democratic Congress (NDC) government while offering hope and strategic policies for national development”.
The Honorable Minister Dr. Ato Forson said while speaking on KalyJay’s Space on X on Sunday : “Let us not deceive ourselves that the country is out of the woods. Our economy is still in distress, so we will focus on stabilizing it to achieve our manifesto promises. Some are time-bound, others are within the 120-day social contract, some within one year, and others after the foundation is laid. We can certainly not accommodate everything in the manifesto within one budget year. We will focus on those we can implement within the first year.”
