H.E President John Dramani Mahama has appointed an 8 member committee to organize the National Education Forum, fulfilling his pledge to the people of Ghana during the 2024 Campaign period.
The other members are Prof. Goski Alabi, Prof. Rosemary Bosu, Samuel Awuku, Ph.D, and Prof. Smile Dzisi. The rest are Kofi Asare, Stephen Owusu and Inusah Shiraz. It has a two-week deadline to submit its report
The committee would be chaired by Prof George K.T Oduro, Pro Vice-Chancellor of the University of Cape Coast University
Among the 9 mandates of the committee are but not limited to : identifying themes and sub themes for stakeholder engagements. Identifying various forms of stakeholders in education including, students, heads of schools, teachers, researchers, development partners, political parties, chiefs, schools, researchers in the diaspora etc. Develop a stakeholder activity agenda, date and time allocations, venue, date and time for the event, budget, breakout room sessions as well as set up a secretariate to document activities.
Additionally, the committee is to develop a comprehensive report detailing the findings and recommendations of the Forum as well as draft a National education policy framework and propose an action plan for implementation recommendations within three weeks
