A report by Joy News has indicate that the NPP government issued 102 mining related licenses between January 1st to January 6th 2025.

In the final week of former President Akufo-Addo’s New Patriotic Party (NPP) administration, more than 100 mining-related permits were granted, according to data from the Ghana Mining Repository.
Prior to President John Dramani Mahama’s swearing-in, 102 of the 103 licenses granted in 2025 were given out between January 1st and January 6th.

This indicates that under the present administration, just one license has been granted.
