Minister Haruna Iddrisu and Deputy Minister Sukparu Involved in Convoy Crash
ACCRA – Ghana’s Education Minister Hon. Haruna Iddrisu and Deputy Communications Minister Hon. Mohammed Adams Sukparu are in stable condition following a road traffic accident today, according to an official statement from the Education Ministry.
The incident occurred on the Bolgatanga–Tumu Road while the ministers and their teams were traveling to attend the 40th anniversary celebrations of Tumu College of Education and Jahan College of Education in the Upper West Region.
Road Accident on Bolgatanga–Tumu Road: Emergency Response and Medical Care
Emergency responders provided immediate assistance at the scene, and all members of the convoy are now receiving medical attention.
Officials confirm no fatalities and describe both Minister Haruna Iddrisu and Minister Mohammed Adams Sukparu as being in stable condition.
“The Office expresses its appreciation to emergency responders, health professionals, and members of the public for their swift assistance and concern,”
said Hashmin Mohammed, Press Secretary to the Education Minister, in the release.
Official Engagements in Upper West Region Affected Following Incident
The ministers were en route to official engagements marking the 40th anniversary of Tumu College of Education and Jahan College of Education when the accident occurred.
The government has not announced changes to the scheduled anniversary events.
Public Reassured as Ministers Receive Necessary Medical Attention
The statement confirmed that all members of the convoy are currently in stable condition and receiving the necessary medical care.
Officials have said further information and updates on the condition of Minister Haruna Iddrisu and Deputy Minister Mohammed Adams Sukparu will be communicated as necessary.
